RS-232 Generic Problem Solver Kit
- A versatile tool
The RS-232 Generic Problem Solver Kit gives instant access to 20 different
wiring combinations and 6 cable lengths ranging from 1 to 8 meters.
This means you have 120 cables in one small carrying case. You will never
have to solder a serial cable again!
The two tables below show available combinations:

Note: Using two crossed connectors results in a cable with the same wiring as
if using two straight connectors. These combinations are not unique and
therefore not included in the above table. They do, however, give some
redundancy which is good if one connector gets lost somehow. Replacement
connectors are available separately upon request.

Note: When using two connectors as an additional RJ-45 adaptor you can connect
all three cables to form a 9 meter cable. Greater lengths are obtainable by
using standard RJ-45 cables readily available. When working in an office
building you sometimes have the possibility to use the in-house network
cabling to connect equipment placed in different rooms. This is another
advantage of using RJ-45 cables.
